Wednesday Update (Posted 3/25/20 at 5:00pm est)

Dear Friends,

In light of the recent recommendations by the Governor of Tennessee and corresponding decisions of local organizations like Unicoi County Schools to extend closures later into April, we have decided that it would be best for First Christian Church to continue not meeting at our building for programs and services for at least the next 4 weeks. This effectively cancels all previously scheduled in person gatherings at our building between now and April 26th until further notice.

While this remains a difficult course of action to take for many reasons, we remain committed to both exploring and continuing new ways of connecting with our members and attenders and anyone else who wishes to be part of our congregational life. We would love to hear from you about what is working well and what isn’t. We welcome hearing new ideas and suggestions and also want to know how you are doing and if you or someone you know needs prayer or has specific needs. Please feel free to contact us at “mail@fccerwin.org” or by calling (423) 743-3811.

We will be continuing to offer some sort of weekly online video based worship service on Sundays at 10:45am that will include times of singing, prayer, scripture, communion and sermon. The easiest way to participate in this will be to visit our website at: www.fccerwin.org/live or our Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/fccerwin . Or if you or someone you know would prefer a DVD version, please contact Andy at “andy@fccerwin.org” or call (423) 743-3811 so we can try to get that to you before Sunday morning.

Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding through this time. We are grateful to face an uncertain future with knowledge of and trust in an ever faithful God.

Grace and peace,

Church Board of FCC Erwin
