Please read the following mid-week update from the Church Board of FCC Erwin:
“Dear Friends,
As we have continued to think and pray about the situation at hand, hear updated information and recommendations from health officials, and observe the responses of others, we have decided that it would be best to cancel our next two Sunday morning services on 3/22 and 3/29. In addition to the previously announced cancellation of mid-week programs and events for the remainder of March, that means the earliest time we are considering meeting again in person would be on Wednesday, April 1st. More cancellations may still come later as new information comes in, but at this time we are just canceling all activities for the rest of March.
While it was difficult to not meet together as a congregation for worship this past Sunday we have been encouraged to hear from many of you that the devotional materials provided were helpful in assisting in worshiping in your homes. This Sunday, we are also planning to offer an online worship experience on Facebook and our church website (www.fccerwin.org). More details on how to participate in that will follow. Additionally, we are working on creating and sharing other resources to help us all continue to worship God together, even as we practice social distancing recommendations.
We hope this message finds you and your family and friends all feeling well and beginning to adjust to new routines to protect yourselves and the local community from the rapid spread of COVID-19. Our staff and elders are reaching out to contact and check in with all church members on a regular basis to see how we can continue to encourage, serve, and pray for you.
If you have not yet heard from one of them or think we may not have the correct contact information for you, please let us know by replying to this message or calling the church office at (423) 743-3811 or you are welcome to come in person to the office if you feel well enough to do so. Even for those who are not members, but would like to talk and pray with someone, please contact us. We are available to help in whatever ways we can.
