Returning to Online Only Gatherings

In response to the recent significant increase in COVID-19 activity within Unicoi County, we will revert to online-only services and activities effective immediately. In-person services for this Sunday (8/29), next Sunday (9/5), the church picnic (8/29), and the trip to Wetlands (8/31) are cancelled. Online Sunday morning services and Wednesday night Zoom Bible studies will continue for the foreseeable future.

This change is a reaction to the dramatic rise in COVID-19 cases over the last week, and the particularly alarming rise in cases among children. As children comprise nearly 40% of our church community, we are exercising this measure of caution for their safety as well as that of the entire community. We will continue to monitor local and regional COVID-19 activity and recommendations/requirements from federal, state, and local officials and health experts. We will evaluate the local situation on a biweekly basis until further notice.

Please continue in prayer for the many people affected by COVID-19, and for the patience of a waiting world, anxious for peace and hope. Let us give thanks that we serve such a loving God as He who sent His Son to embody that peace and hope, and to show us how to spread His love when it is needed most. As we persist in a broken and bereaved world, let us remember God’s love and the words of Paul in Romans 12:1-9.

Please contact the church, any minister, or a member of the leadership team if you have any questions or needs.
